White Belt Technical Requirements

The White belt, or 10th Gup, is the very begining of training for new taekwondo students.  The white color signifies the innocence of the beginner, and their ignorance of taekwondo.  Students over 5 years old are expected to know all of the below material to be eligible for promotion to Orange belt.

Tiny Tiger students, which are between the ages of 3 and 5 years old, retain their White belt for much longer than older students.  At this age, students focus on Hapkido, along with basic kicking, striking, and blocking techniques.  As their skills increase over time, Tiny Tiger students earn color strips for their White belt as they prepare for thier first color belt exam.
